BAS SETUP GONE

Been doing a manual BAS for years no worries as a routine and then also lodging online. Today it appears all my setup info has gone and all fields are $0 in my desktop version of Account Right BAS reporting fields. When I went online all data was prefilled. Any ideas on why I can no longer do a manual BAS to check against the online lodgment?

    Hi BRIGITTE

It sounds like your manual BAS setup (BASlink) has gone missing. Unlike online BAS, the manual BAS/BASlink setup is saved on the computer itself, not inside the company file.

If you’ve changed computers, rebuilt the machine, or reinstalled Windows, that BASlink setup doesn’t automatically come across with it.

If you still have access to the old computer, you can:

    1. On the old computer, open File Explorer and go to your Documents folder, then into the MYOB/AccountRight folders. You’re looking for a path similar to:
      C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\MYOB\AccountRight\...\BASlink\Setup
    2. In that Setup folder, you should see a .bas file (often named after your ABN). Copy that file to the same BASlink\Setup folder on your new computer.
    3. On the new computer, open AccountRight, go to Accounts > Prepare BAS/IAS > Lodge manually. BASlink should pick up that setup file (if not, open the .bas file from within BASlink once, then save).

If you’re still using the original computer, you’ll just need to find that .bas file in the BASlink\Setup folder and open/save it again so BASlink uses your old settings.
