Running Payroll Summaries Manually after 30 June

Hi Brains Trust,

I am helping a friend out with their MYOB who is still doing manual payroll reporting (No STP yet - have signed him up for this FinYR)

I want to run the payroll summaries for 25 FINYR but the assistant is only showing me activity for the 2026 fin year.

I've only got a few days to meet the deadline, and I've tried so many options. I've reactivated old staff etc, but I fear we needed to run these summaries on 30 June.

Am I correct? I've been using STP for so long, I had forgotten about the restrictions.

Any advice on how I can get the payment summary assistant to run the correct year?

THanking you all in advance

  • Hi EmmaE1,

Love seeing you jumping in to help a friend with their payroll, it’s what makes this community awesome, especially with those end-of-year.

You’re right, you still need to meet the ATO’s strict deadlines for submitting payment summaries. The key restriction you’re running into is that after you’ve completed a rollover into the new payroll year, the Payment Summary Assistant will only generate summaries for the current (rolled over) year. Unless a backup was saved or the payment summaries were generated before rolling over, there isn’t a direct way to produce payment summaries for the prior financial year using the Assistant.

    Cheers,

I agree the Payroll Summary Report to Salaries on the P&L and PAYG - W Ledger.

Also complete a BAS Reconciliation for the year.

Agreeing W1 and W2 on the BAS/IAS to the P&L and PAYG - W ledger.

If the PSR is not available, you can work with the above.

I would probably work with the Tax Accountant.
