Reports Filtering in Excel

My question actually relates to all Myob reports exported to Excel. Unlike Myob Premier Classic we are not able to filter reports exported from Myob to Excel. This has always been useful. It would be hugely appreciated if the development team could reintroduce the filtering option in Excel.

Re: Reports Filtering in Excel

Hi @Kollox

Thank you for your post.

From my understanding, the later versions of AccountRight does differ in some of its functions compared to the classic version with respect to reports. For any report you are working on you are able to filter and sort a report and customise reports within AccountRight itself. However, if you would like to filter reports in Excel or recommend for different filter options in AccountRight, please feel free to post on the AccountRight Ideas Exchange

Kind regards,
Jesh

Re: Reports Filtering in Excel

Hi @Kollox , welcome to the forum. Can you give an example of a report which won't filter in the new AccountRight?

Are you referring to the use of the data filter? Some reports come out with a blank line after the column headings, which prevents the data filter working properly.

Re: Reports Filtering in Excel

Hi Mike,

I spoke to Myob support and they also advised that after exporting reports from Moyb the Excel data filter does not work. When you click for example to only choose lines with a particular customer name there are no choices in the filter. This happens in any reports exported into Excel.

Re: Reports Filtering in Excel

Hi @Kollox , it would be more useful if support had advised how to make the Data Filter work on reports.

The Data filter requires a continuous block of data, with all column headings and no blank lines.

Taking a sales register report as an example (below), you need to remove Row 11, which is blank, then insert a row before the totals. Then select any data cell, and enable the Data Filter.

Re: Reports Filtering in Excel

PS: Row 11 is very narrow, and hard to manage with just the mouse. To select it, press F5, then type 11:11 and click OK. Then press Ctrl+Minus to delete that row.
