For example, before I started working at MYOB I had my own IT training business where I needed to keep track of my expenses for the purposes of BAS/tax and would need to invoice for my services on a fortnightly basis. Updating an Excel spreadsheet was time consuming and hard to do on a phone. Here’s how we’ve turned what you've shared so far into action. Tap to Pay: an EFTPOS in your pocket Important: Android only. Apple support coming soon. Invoices? Nice. But how about just holding out your phone, taking a payment, and having our app take care of the rest? Nicer. We've set up tap to pay so you can get paid on the spot—no extra hardware required. It’s as simple as Tap. Pay. Done. Just fire up tap to pay to take payments from card, mobile, or wearable, the accounting side of things is all logged in real-time. Learn how to get started with tap to pay Need to know: Some banks limit card taps over $100, so have a backup plan—like sending an invoice- if they pull out a classic plastic card Google Wallet and Apple Pay have no limits There's a small fee: 30 cents + 1.6% per transaction You asked, we delivered We're in our ideas hub every day, turning your suggestions into reality—one line of code at a time. Here’s what we’ve rolled out from your ideas list so far Share invoices everywhere You wanted more ways to share invoices, so now you can. Text, email, WhatsApp—whatever works for you. Just load up a preview of your invoice and then hit share. Set and forget invoice due dates We saw a a bit of a time-waster; setting an invoice due date every time. Now we remember how much time you give customers to pay, so you don't have to. No need to set it unless you want to make a change. Filter and find invoices and expenses We fixed that annoying bug that made invoices disappear and added better search and filter options. Now, finding and filtering is a breeze. The bug hunt continues We’ve cleaned up a bunch of other little bugs to keep things running smoothly. Let us know about anything unexpected or strange looking and we'll take a look for you. Is it really Solo without a mileage tracker?
Hi community 👋 What are your thoughts on the solo app containing a mileage tracker and what about it particularly would you find helpful? Personally I would just love to be able to plug my Odometer reading in at the start and end of any eligible business journey. Helps me to keep track of business vs personal percentage. Doing it all from the ONE/ SOLO app is always going to make it easier! I know the feature to actually automatically track using GPS is helpful to a lot of people too. Which has a reconcile function (separate business/personal). I’ve seen other apps with the cents/km method automatically convert it to the potential tax deduction. what else would be helpful? Must it be a huge extended addition? Or could it intergrate nicely into categories and expenses? thanksSusan_Solo for the suggestion! If you’re not sure what these milestones are or whether you’ve completed them, don’t worry. Let’s break it down. What are the milestones? When you joined the program, we told you that completing two simple tasks before October 1st would earn you a $250 voucher: Milestone 1: Send one invoice. Milestone 2: Record one expense. That’s it! Easy, right? How to check if you’ve hit your milestones Not sure if you’ve done it? Here’s how you can check: Milestone 1: Invoice sent Open your app and click on the Invoices tab. If you see an invoice created before October 1st, congrats—you’ve nailed Milestone 1! 🎯 Milestone 2: Expense recorded Head over to the Expenses tab. If you see an expense created before October 1st, boom—you’ve hit Milestone 2! 🎉 What if you’ve only completed one? If you’ve only completed one or none of the milestones, then I hate to break it to you, but sadly you've missed out this time. Don't worry—there are plenty of other ways to contribute and earn rewards. So keep an eye on your inbox for more opportunities. Didn’t get your voucher? First of all, hold your horses—we're aiming to have everything sent out by this Friday and—sometimes—things can take a bit to make it through. If it’s Monday next week, you’ve hit both milestones but still haven’t received your voucher, something’s off—and we want to fix it. 🛠️ Reply to this thread with: The date you sent your invoice. As a small business most of my customers prefer paying through payID due to the convenience. As a business I prefer it too as I get the payment instantly in most cases. GST-Exclusive Invoicing Option in Solo
We’ve been hearing some great ideas lately here's a new one from someone who reached out via chat. Picture this: You want to bill your client $1000. Boom! You punch that in, hit the GST-exclusive toggle, and like magic, Solo adds the 10% GST for you. Your invoice now shows $1000 + $100 GST = $1100 total. No more mental gymnastics or calculator acrobatics! • One click to flip between GST-inclusive and exclusive • Crystal-clear labels (because who needs more tax-induced headaches?) • Math that actually adds up (we know, revolutionary stuff) Is this the invoicing nirvana you've been dreaming of? Give us a shout in the comments or slam that thumbs-up button. The more noise you make, the quicker we can turn Solo into your personal GST-wrangling sidekick.
Some suggestions on my first go…
So I have a few few issues/ suggestions re: the app from my first session. the app isn’t formatted for iPad which is annoying. The screen is small and so is the keyboard. It would be great if it was iPad friendly. I can’t add my business logo for my invoices or change any of the formatting - I’m not a fan of the font and sizing of the text in the invoice. It would be great if I could create a customisable template with some compulsory and other o-tonal building blocks. I am unable to add/ change the income category name (see screenshot) The “ship to” category seems irrelevant as the invoices are emailed - perhaps having an opt out for this It signs out very quickly when inactive I’d like to be able to add more information for my business such as my address, contact details and a description of my services (I am a consultant and submit the work I do in a specific format for clarity for my clients).
