Are there Online AccountRight API Issues today ?

Hi FAB , I'm getting a number of similar errors today on an app which reads data from many files. 

The API team have explained that these are a form of timeout errors, but they are certainly a lot more frequent than usual. 

You should email developers@myob.com with the details. They will want you to send them:

- the URI you called

- type of call (Get, Put, Post etc)

- Request Header

- Response Header

- Json response body

(They do not want to see your code).

We synch all of our sles into MYOB via OneSaas

We have been having ongoing issues for a number of months now, probably even longer, with getting timeout errors and API 500 errors, or errors about expired tokens - it takes an entire day for sales to synch in to MYOB from our Neto back end.  Sometimes we have to get OneSaas to do the synchs manually themselves because the API is not working as it should

We always go back to OneSaas and blasting them about this, thinking it is an error on their end - and they always tell us the same thing - that it is an error from the MYOB end.  And we have noticed it has been much worse since upgrading to 2020.2 - coincidence ?  Not likely.

Reading the comments on this thread, I am actually starting to think is IS you guys that are the issue and am extremely angry about all of this

Everyone is quick to pass the buck, but the more and more I read about this, I actually think there is something wrong at MYOB's end that needs to be seriously investigated

What are you guys going to do about this ?  Keep taking our $109 per month and do nothing as usual ?

The problem with MYOB developers is they ask impossibly technical questions and don't actually understand that we don't all wear propellers on our heads.........

I've now received a response that says "Can we please get a full HTTP trace including request and response headers and message body/JSON payload?"

Seriously.... I only run a multimillion dollar business, not really capable of launching rockets to mars.....

MYOB should be helping us not putting roadblocks in place!

Of course, I could ring and sit on hold for 2 hours whilst I wait for someone with the same MYOB skills as me to say "I'll ask my peers/team for advice on this as I've never seen or heard of this problem before"!!! (& then wait another hour to be told sorry nothing I can suggest...) Seems like this is always the stock answer...

As you can tell I, like many long term MYOB users (only 22 years)  have just about had it with the way we get treated by MYOB and their lack of real support... I used to love this product but no more....

Happy to chat with someone at MYOB who wants to actually listen or take some action on behalf of the many Small Business Users that have had enough...

Hi @fab, CBM_Support , the communications from the developers are aimed at other developers, not users, which explains the tech stuff in their communications.

I would recommend asking your product developers at IntoAccounts and OneSaas to contact MYOB developers with your concerns. They may be able to provide MYOB with the requested details, if they are logging the error messages at their end.

As developers we have noticed the same pattern of failures, mainly timeouts within the API servers, and we are now assuming that API calls will fail, and building some resilience into our apps by way of re-trying any call if a runtime error occurs. This used to be unnecessary, but is definitely improving the accuracy and completeness of data integration. 

I would also expect your product developers to be aware of the same pattern, in fact I would be interested in their views.

Would be good if MYOB can just fix this.  This is their job, not ours and I am not a developer or tech person either

Yes the fault is very probably in the API, but unless the OneSaas app enables tracing/logging of the info I mentioned, it won't be available to you. You should still email the developers and describe the problem.

HI FAB , the API is working, although gives intermittent errors. You mentioned that you haven't been able to sync sales since yesterday. Have you checked that you can still connect OneSaas to your AccountRIght file (I'm not familiar with OneSaas but there must be an option to connect a file and test that connnection). 

OneSaas is itself a middleware program. Where are the sales coming from - an ecommerce site?

Sales re being synched from our Neto store, we have tested the connection and it is fine

Neto are telling me they are getting an error message from MYOB saying the token has expired - last time this happened it was an error with MYOB and they needed to make some changes at their end
