One ABN - Two MYOB Files

Hello

I was wondering if you are able to have two spearate MYOB Files with one ABN?

I want to be able to limit the access my payroll officier has to Management staff (so only some employee cards) Managment payroll will be done by our internal accoutant. Trying to find a way to limit access within MYOB ??

  • Hi CCR_2000,

    Thank you for your post.

Regarding your concern, yes, you could run two separate files in one ABN, however, when it is time to report to the ATO you would need to combine the two as it is all one ABN. If you run two separate accounts, you will also need two separate bank accounts.

I hope this helps. If you need further assistance or if you have other questions and concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again. We are happy to help.

        Hi CCR_2000,

Thank you for getting back to us. In this matter, if you have 2 different files under one ABN, normally, you will only have one file per ABN. If you have two different files in one ABN, you can use the Chart of Accounts and set up different accounts for the different operations. However, we do recommend speaking with your accountant to check your Chart of Accounts.

Regarding the STP2 in MYOB, if it allows you to report weekly with two MYOB files on one ABN, in this case, yes, it is possible however, it might be merged on the file if you have employees.
