USER ACCESS error

Hi MYOB

I recently moved from AccountRight to MYOB Business. I have mulitple business files.

One of my business files had an existing USER. They were unable to do some functions so I upgraded thier profile to a Online Administrator. The user then recieved a email saying their acccess had been removed.

When they next went to log in they could only access the WRONG business file and couldnt access the file they needed.

I removed all access from the user and started again. They are now a user on the correct file but listed as an ADVISOR and they are still unable to do the funtions required.

How can I return this user to a File User with Admin access?

Thanks

    Hi ntoumba,

Thanks for your post. To get a user back to 'Administrator' access, you need to invite them again to the right business file. When you do, ensure their role is administrator. If they can't do what they need to, they might be set as an 'Advisor'. This role is different from what the file administrator can access. So, you'll need to change their role from 'advisor' to 'administrator'.

    Hello Shella_A,

This doesnt appear to work. I can not re-invite the user. So I removed the user and tried to invite them as a new user.

Unfortuatnly now I can not add the user back as I get the error message that a 'There is already a user with this email. Enter a different email".

Weirdly the user can still log in and when they look at the USER list thier details do not appear.

    Please help

    Hi ntoumba

    Thanks for the follow-up post.

Typically, user roles determine what can be accessed within the ledger file. If a user is set as an administrator for the file, they should have access to all its contents. I suggest removing all other roles and retaining only the administrator user role. This action will likely resolve your issue.

If you need further assistance, please provide more details about your concern, such as the function you are trying to add.

    Hi Genreve_S,

I am not having any luck with correcting this USER.

I have removed the USER from all access - completely.  However even after being removed from access this user can still log in to our account. I have serious concerns for security that this is possible.

Also now when I try to re invite this user and CREATE a new user i get this error message:

There must be a error somewhere as when I check the USERS list even when I select SHOW INACTIVE the user doesnt appear.

When I selected 'Manage user access via my.MYOB'  the user doesnt appear on these lists either.

Please advise what steps I can take to rectfiy this issue.

    Hi ntoumba

    Thanks for the response.

The error message you're encountering typically appears when an invitation has been declined instead of accepted. To investigate this further, could you please send me a private message with the following information:

    • Serial number.
    • Full name and email address.
    • Company name.
    • Company file ID (Help > About MYOB AccountRight).
    • The name and email address of the person you are trying to invite.

Once I have this information, I'll be able to assist you more effectively.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Thanks,
    Genreve
