Inventory Quantity discrepancy

Hi All,

I am struggling to understand why an item in my inventory has different quantities at hand, depending on the report.

For example, in the below items register report, it says the starting quantity is at 0

However, in the system, it says that there is 12 on hand before the 18/06.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi ilifeaustralia,

The mismatch in your inventory quantities might be due to a future-dated transaction. The Items List and Items Register should always show the same quantity, so when they’re out of sync, future-dated transactions are often the culprit. To sort it out, jump into your Items Register. Set the "Dated From" as today’s date and the "To" date as something way out there, like 9999. That’ll bring up any transactions that were accidentally set with a future date. If you spot any, open them up and fix the date to something accurate. Once those dodgy dates are all corrected, your quantities in both the Items Register and Items List should match perfectly. Check this link for more details about this.

    Cheers,

    Shella

Hi ilifeaustralia , the item register screen display is well known for displaying incorrect information. You can probably rely on the register report.

MYOB may be able to correct the display with a script.

    Hi Shella,

Thanks for the suggestion but there weren't any future transactions.

Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

I have found this record in the Item List, but I just can't seem to track where the excess 12 comes from. Thanks
