Looking for a reason to stay with Accountright

As an accounting system I have no major issues with Accountright. Not perfect but does the job.

However I am looking at streamlining workflows. Mainly purchasing and inventory management. Some basic CRM functionality would be good too.

I tried Tall Emu when they were owned by MYOB. It didn't work. When Mike re-acquired the business and started making changes I inquired again. They said it doesn't integrate well with Woocommerce.
Datapel doesn't do import allocations based on volume or weight like Unleased, Qblue, Neto etc does.
Are there any other platforms anyone would recommend?
Does anyone know if MYOB is planning on making Accountright easier to integrate?
I was quoted $45 to $75K for an MYOB Acumatica solution.
Am I the only one finding it hard to stay with MYOB as a growing business?

A question for MYOB employees - do you know of any plans to make MYOB easier to integrate to these various platforms?
I would stay with Accountright and move to Neto but apparently there are hardly any MYOB users on that platform anymore.
If there are no solutions, that is sweet, I will just have to reluctantly move to Xero.

  • Hi Butch, curious where you ended up?  MYOB CRM (Tall Emu) was an attractive proposition, but now back with with previous owner we are now relying on a one man band to keep Tall Emu running and they are still stretched for resources to help customers.  Makes sense MYOB ditched Tall Emu if Acumatica overlaps in functionality.  We are a MYOB Accountright users and see TallEmu as a cost effective bolt on to our CRM and inventory management requirements.  We are wanting to integrate it with WooCommerce and are nervous.  MYOB Acumatica has the full ERP going on which we could make use of, if pricing allows.

Gday John, I am just putting the finishing touches on an integration with Retail Express (REX). This one flew under the radar when I was researching but it has an inventory system which in theory seems to work well. Won't know till I get it up and running.
But it's features and functionality stacked up well against the other options. For example it allocates landed import costs by weight (unfortunately not by volume, but I have a work around).
It integrates with MYOB, but all inventory is handled in REX. It writes back just the high level accounting entries to MYOB. In the integration stage it is so much easier working in it than MYOB.
It also integrates with WOO and Starshipit. The pricing is excellent too.
I was speaking to a bloke that did a WOO, Accumatica integration. I think you are looking at over $50K. So definitely have a talk to them.
I reckon in a couple of weeks I will have it all up and running so if it interests you just let me know and I can give you an update.

  • Hi John & Butch,

Rachel from Tall Emu CRM here (Head of Marketing & Operations). I can see this post is going back a couple of months at least now, but just to clarify a few things that have been said which I feel need correcting.

    1. Tall Emu has a team of 20 including across support and development. So, although the company is back with Mike Nash, the original owner/founder, we are not stretched on resources given the support team is larger now than before the acquisition. Also, we offer priority support options including phone support, which had been hit and miss before we took the business back.
    2. Tall Emu integrates well with WooCommerce (provided it's set up correctly) - so I'm a bit confused on this point
    3. Tall Emu is a mini-ERP option for businesses not needing or wanting a full-blown ERP. The functionality of Tall Emu CRM is perfect for small to medium businesses that are growing.

It's a shame there has been some misinformation floating around, but hopefully this makes things a little clearer! Thanks.

Yes Rachel it is a shame there is so much misinformation floating around Tall Emu!

You may want to check your records before accusing others of misinformation regarding Tall Emu's performance and more specifically the integration with Woocommerce.

When I found out Mike Nash was back and things had changed I contacted Tall Emu to have another crack at the integration - screenshot marked 1.

I received a call from Amy Glendenning who specifically stated that there were issues with the Woocommerce integration. Once I got off the phone and digested the information I was pretty annoyed. I literally could not believe I was told that.

I was so shocked I sent an email to her to confirm the conversation - screenshot 2 - to which I received no reply.

So I fired off another email - screenshot 3. I did not receive a reply to this one either.

Clearly there were issues with the Woocommerce and Tall Emu integration at the time of my first email. Prior to that, I wasted months trying to get it to work - documentation can be provided.

The most annoying part was that Tall Emu kept trying to get more subscriptions out of me despite the fact that it didn't work - documentation can be provided.

Anyway I hope this post clears up any misinformation

  • I'm just asking questions and trying to find a suitable solution for our needs.  The latest is our TE-Woo connection is up and running just last week. Products syncronisation is done but we haven't tested an transactions yet so the jury is still out.  It did take quite some time to get Mike's attention to assist but we got there in the end. He wanted/needed to be involved personally.  MYOB Acumatica has Shopify native so a change to this platform has other implications.  A decision is pending MYOB-TE-Woo integration performance.
