AccountRight MSI installer - auto update

We're wanting to push out AccountRight automatically to our PCs through intune. I tried the MSI installer, but this appears to not allow auto-updating. Is that correct?

Is there a way to install AccountRight automatically using Intune, but allow auto-updating?

Thanks!

  • Hi jeos,

Thanks for your question! Your understanding is correct, deploying AccountRight using the MSI installer disables the auto-update feature. All updates for MSI-based installations must be performed manually, which means you would need to push out each new version through Intune or another deployment tool every time there is a release.

Have you tried deploying AccountRight using the standard EXE installer rather than the MSI installer? Please refer to the following article and check whether it addresses your query: How to deploy EXE applications using Intune

    Regards,

  • Hi Earl_HD ,

Thanks, I was able to get the EXE working. I didn't realise it supported the /silent flag.

That flag, combined with the 'Install behavior: User' option in Intune seems to have got it installed properly with auto-updates working.

    Thanks,
