Reprocessing a returned super payment from a closed financial year.

Hello, I have recently discovered back in 2021 a returned super payment, that was not reprocessed. The financial year is closed and so I have reversed the super payment for the pay period of Aug 2021 and Sep 2021 but with a current pay date. This has failed to pick up in the pay super liabilities account. So when I go to reprocess the payments there is no outstanding payment for those pay periods and I can’t reprocess. Can anybody help me work out how to rectify this issue?

    Hi Mrsbookkeeper87,

     

    Reversing and reprocessing a superannuation payment from 2021 while you're now in the current financial year can be quite complex. You’ll likely need your accountant’s help since it involves adjusting pay from a closed financial year. MYOB only supports the previous and current financial years, so any adjustments for years before that need to be lodged manually with the ATO. You could try creating a journal entry, but definitely consult your accountant first.
