Work compensation pay in STP

Hi I have one employee under work comp pay with no work performed. As per ATO, wages paid from work comp is report as type w.  when I processed the work comp pay, it is not incl in Gross amount, which means the total gross in STP does not match to total in MYOB.  Can anyone help with how we can fix this issue?

    ok I got it. Work Comp pay is not incl in Gross pay, but it shows on employee's group certificate separately. 

  • Hi Qiu,

     

    If you've set up your payroll categories and ATO reporting categories correctly, there shouldn't be any issues with the gross amount. To make sure everything's in order, check your work compensation settings and see if PAYG withholding is marked as exempt. If it is, just uncheck it and send update event on the STP reporting screen to notify the ATO. If the issue keeps happening, I'd recommend chatting with your accountant to make sure you've assigned the right ATO reporting categories to your work compensation payments.

    ATO does say it is type W as screeshot from ATO. it should be incl in gross pay total I supposed. but when I processed it, the gross shows zero for that work comp pay.  

    I don't have issue with PAYG for work compensation payment. it is only the gross total is not correct.

    or should I change this reporting category to work comp leave?
