Access to Technical Support

This is my second day of trying to get ANYONE at MYOB Product Support to answer the phone.

MYOB does not respond to online chat questions. That is now over 1 week without response.

After 1.5 HOURS of listening to terrible, distorted music today I am still without support. I have my own business to run.

My issue is my offline Account Right, which has served my little business well for over 10 years, is now being phased out by MYOB.

MYOB now demands an annual fee for having this product on-line but offers NO support in return.

The standard of service by MYOB is terrible for a situation that MYOB created.

    Hi RalphMoyle,

Sorry you’ve had to spend that much time chasing help while running your own business. I can see that one from our team has already been in touch with you and provided the form to fill out. From there, the dedicated team will reach out to you directly with any updates. Thanks for sticking with us.

    Cheers,

    Doreen

  • Hi Dorren,

Listening to that distorted music for 2 hours was torture but Chris helpful.

Irony being when I went to submit the form he sent me, MYOB would not accept it due to Technical issues they were experiencing.

Clearly MYOB is having another bad day

  • Thanks for your contribution Liz.

I am a single person business and I don't use or need bank live feeds or payroll.

I am using Account Right Plus offline.

I am only going on-line as MYOB email did not give me any choice.

If someone in the forum has a more practicval and cheaper option, I would be grateful.

    Cheers

    Ralph

    Hi RalphMoyle

I'm guessing you mean a post Classic version and the easiest option to prevent auto upgrade that I have seen on here is from Random_nuggets as follows:

" A simpler, more surgical method is as follows:

    1. a) Open the folder in which MYOB is installed. Typically this will be in:

    C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Programs\MYOB\AccountRight

    1. b) Inside that folder you will find a program file named Update.exe. Simply rename this program file to, say, "Update-disabled.exe". Voila! No more updates!. When AccountRight is next started, it will fail to find its auto-update program, and then carry on running the software as is.

I have successfully tested this approach since the AR 2026.3 release (PC edition).

If this is not applicable to your version, then re-post on the Forum for an alternative as they are out there.

    Cheers
