Hello to all
I have tried many scenarios of your solution JuliePTE , but none work on our RDP platform. In all examples a new myob-arl is created, but the content is identical to the -OLD-VERSION. Strangely, on the main administrator login, myob still functions correctly, but for regular RDP users, no such luck. i tried elevating an RDP profile to full domain administrator status, but this didn't resolve the issue - even after several login cycles.
MYOB customers need a properly coded fix, and need it yesterday. AmandaMYOB how long is this going to take? Why wasn't an update version like this actually tested for such a simple thing as customer login - for a customer on their own local network? This is after all a server edition - the name suggesting it will be installed on a network - in most cases a LAN. Like Booker i have staff burning through wages while we try to fix problems of software a we pay for monthly/annually, and have done since around 2008.
It actually annoys the hell out of me that myob users face changes, security updates eg provide 200 points of identity just for the continued privilege of emailing my invoices which they have already done for the prior 10+ years, change the entire login method, TOTALLY remove the local datafile from local software I pay for and use locally, all without customer consultation, much less any notice of. And now when things go wrong the user is channeled to support - provided by the community. Seriously? Oh the bliss of having your own customers field all the questions of your other customers who have problems!!! Cost to company = $0. Smart? Short term maybe. Long term? .... but then did MYOB ever truly commit to customer consultation? Well.... Hello myob alternatives. ive held off because its a pain to change, but i declare one day - i will make that change, because that pain will be less than the pain of staying with MYOB.
The recent rapid changes reek of IT developers given scope to cover their butts on security with priority given over the practical advice of day to day business minded analysts approaching the issues with a broad minded view. I still cant reckon up why a locally installed software does not hold the actual database. Every database call takes that much longer, the backup destination should be in our secure drives. oh wait!! theres not a .myox to be found. Backups are actually to another location online with MYOB. Why isnt industry at least informed of these changes? I distinctly remembering MYOB say they took no responsibility for your datafile. Still the case?
