Roles and Permissions for Users
Our company does not want any of the employees to have access to any of the part of the company file, only to use MYOB Capture to upload receipts and invoices.
When setting up a user for MYOB Capture you have to choose one role and permission. Why is there not the choice of MYOB Capture only ?

When you assign roles under the Manage Users you get to choose roles. In addition to that if you want to customize what those roles have access to you could go to Manage Roles.

Wishful thinking with MYOB Business Online. Roles and Permissions in here do not allow sole access to MYOB Capture for Employees. The only way of doing this is to give them access to say Purchasers in MYOB Business Online. So Employees get to see everything Purchases dashboard has ie Purchases invoices, outstanding etc. By far not ideal.
MYOB Business Online does not allow to drill down further like AR does which is a huge problem. Simple fix is to have sole access for employees to MYOB Capture avoiding the issue of giving an employee access to the main data file.
This needs to be corrected as soon as possible. Very frustrating for Accountants and clients alike.
The import/export functions are also lack luster.
Have been using MYOB since inception but this product needs a lot of work to be up to standard.

I understand how important restrictions are for user access, the more specific the user access is the better.
Currently, the MYOB Business User Access is not on par with the AccountRight desktop User access setting. Rest assured it's the team's goal to make the MYOB Business as close to the AccountRight desktop application as possible in terms of features. Regardless, we would still raise this to the development team as a suggested feature candidate for the next features to work on.

So what do we tell our client. Just wait for MYOB and in the meantime do not use MYOB Capture for employees?!!
Do you have any other solution? Move to AR?
