Great question, and well done getting the serial number change request underway!
When MYOB Data Services does a serial number change, they work from the backup/snapshot of your file that was taken at the time of the request. That copy is completely separate from the one you keep opening in AccountRight, the two do not sync with each other.
That’s why they’ve asked you to stop using the file while the serial number change is being processed – otherwise you’d need to manually re‑enter anything you add in the meantime into the updated file when it comes back.
