MYOB offline being phased out

This morning's headline includes Telstra network outages. I live in a regional area and I receive numerous text messages warning of Telstra disruptions on a regular basis - in the last 12 months - September 25, November 25, December 25, February 26, May 26 and June 26. And these are just the planned outages, not the unexpected outages including unexpected network interruptions. Being able to work offline is essential to my local clients and not having this facility anymore means MYOB is no longer the best option for them. Very disappointing after 30 years of promoting MYOB and for many small clients with payroll, I am suggesting separate payroll systems while staying on MYOB offline with journals for payroll to complete their financials. Some of my small clients just cannot afford the MYOB online option and don't trust their security, based upon their history and the cybersecurity of many large supposedly secure organisations.

Totally agree with you - this is a normal day of events when you rely on the big or small telcos that the internet is not a given - and it is taken offline quite regularly isolating the user from their business file - as professionals we have to advise our clients on the best options for handling most scenarios and in the science of ' unintended consequences', removal of this feature will hurt MYOB only because the reason we stayed and or clients use it was because of that feature.
Tired I am of making this point - MYOB, please listen, this is not an impassioned cry by a few die-hard oldies use to using old and tired software and cannot move into the modern age of ' everything on the internet' - not, not not.
