We have encountered this issue as well - cannot export to Excel. We discovered a work around that MYOB will export if you have a blank Excel file open when trying to export.
However, we have also noticed that the web version does not encounter this issue as it has obviously been updated to export in the modern version of excel. When will MYOB be updating the desk top version?

Appreciate you sharing that workaround. That's actually a clever find. You're spot on too, the browser version's had a few upgrades, while the desktop version can still be a bit old-school in that space. At this stage, we don't have a specific timeframe on when the desktop export will be brought in line. In the meantime, your workaround is a solid one, and using the browser version for exports is a great shout as well.

Unfortunately, I find the browser version of the reports (Sales, analyse item) doesn't format in a friendly way. There is extra spacing and I have to spend more time changing how this report displays in Excel.
It would be wonderful if MYOB could spend some time on the desktop version bringing it up to speed
