Cannot export my reports to Excel

Hi

In the last couple of weeks our excel security policies have changed and I now cannot export reports to excel as I get an error code coming up saying that "MYOB is attempting to open file type excel 97-2003 excel workbook that is blocked in your Trust Centre".  I have tried making changes in my Excel Trust Centre but it will still not allow it.  Our IT department have also had a look and repaired Office and we have deinstalled and re-installed MYOB to see if that fixed it.  It did not.  The IT department has stated that it is due to a 'legacy' excel file type being used and that we need to somehow stop MYOB from trying to use that file type.

Please can you help with a solution that IT can implement.

Amanda

    Hi AmandaLR

This one’s basically your new security settings bumping heads with some older Excel formats that AccountRight still uses (like .xlt/.xls).

Could you get your IT team to check Excel’s Trust Center settings:

    • Open Excel
    • Go to File → Options → Trust Center → Trust Center Settings

If they’re not allowed to relax those settings for the older Excel formats, the only other option for now is:

    • Export the report from MYOB as CSV or TXT, then
    • Open that file in Excel – you’ll get all the data, just without the fancy formatting.

At the moment, those are the two realistic options while AccountRight catches up with Microsoft’s newer Excel policies.

Okay, thanks for that.  WE cannot relax the security policy so I will go with CSV or TXT.
