Time Billing

I'm using Accountright (latest version as of today) and I'm wanting to add users/employees so they can enter timesheets. They have to be able to put hours against jobs. I have the time billing rule set up correctly. I am testing the system using a dummy user. I have created an employee card for the dummy. i have invited them to be a time billing user and they have accepted.

My problem is when the dummy logs in they see an empty dashboard with access to nothing.

I don't want to use activities. I don't want to create invoices from the time billing. I just want employees to be able to log hours against jobs.

I also don't want to use MYOBTeam because it doesn't have the option to assign hours against jobs.

I can go in and enter hours on behalf of employees but that doesn't help me.

Has anyone out there experienced this problem?

    Thanks for your response Sai.

I think I've worked it out. I didn't have Time Billing Command Centre ticked in the managed roles. Now that I have ticked that everything seems to working fine.

    Hi LouD,

I'm sorry you’ve run into this. It sounds like the user invitation has been accepted, but the empty dashboard is expected in this setup. The Time Billing role doesn’t provide a normal browser dashboard. Time Billing is an AccountRight desktop feature, so the employee needs to open the company file in the AccountRight desktop app rather than using the web dashboard.

Please check the following in the company file:

    • Go to Setup > User Access, select the employee’s login and give them access to the required Time Billing functions.
    • Have the employee open the file in the AccountRight desktop app and use Time Billing > Enter Activity Slip to enter their hours and select the relevant job.

You don’t need to prepare Time Billing invoices. The entries can be kept for job costing and reporting only.

At this stage, AccountRight doesn’t have a separate employee timesheet screen that allows users to enter hours against jobs without using activity slips. If the Time Billing options still don’t appear in the desktop app after checking the permissions, reach out to our live chat support through our virtual assistant, MOCA, or submit a case via My Account so we can further look into this.

    Regards,

    Sai
