Connect to 3rd party app but says I'm not the admin

Hi all,

I tried to connect to a 3rd party app, but received an error message saying that I'm not the admin. We have been using both MYOB and that 3rd part app for many years and it's the first time we received this error message. 

 

I've also contacted MYOB support and they've confirmed that I'm using the admin account. What can I do now to solve this issue? Many thanks.

  • Further to my previous message, a few of our affected cutomers reported the message does appear, but  doesn't cause any issues and the connect button will work.

  • Hi Ray,

     

    MYOB devs informed me they pushed an update that should have fixed the issue. But i still personally see an odd error that appears when i select the dropdown for the problem customer/client. 

     

    I did try using the GREEN CONNECT button, so unsure if it will go through. I've informed MYOB of this try again error.

    I've heard back from MYOB. They've confirmed they can reproduce the issue and are having their devs investigate.

    I'm the lead dev for a third-party integrator and we have a number of customers experiencing the same issue. I suspect it's a general problem with MYOB and the recent updates they made.

     

    We've had a number of customers with success using the OWNER account as opposed to ONLINE ADMIN/FILE USER. So you could try a different login and see if it helps.

     

    Saying that, we've had other customers with issues with OWNER, so it's really hit and miss.

     

    MYOB informed us they have rectified the issue last week, but it seems only for some and not everyone. If i hear more from them, i'll post an update (hopefully won't forget).

    I have also contacted 3rd party app. They advised that they have no control over the screenshot I provided, as that page is managed by MYOB...they asked me to reach out to MYOB to solve this issue.

    Hi raybookkeep

     

    That integration error does sound like a permissions thing. If MYOB support has already confirmed you’re the admin, that “not the admin” message is almost definitely coming from the 3rd-party’s side.

     

    Best bet is to reach out to their support so they can confirm what MYOB role/permissions their app needs. If they let you know anything needs changing in MYOB (like your role or file access), you can then update it following their steps.
