Credit note not applied from August 25

Looking to start cleaning up some things hanging about in our MYOB. One query I have is from August 25. Material was supplied and charged to us twice and a credit note was issued however never applied.

So we don't owe any money but the purchase still appears as open and as us owing payment.

Can I fix this without affecting reconciliation or do I need to un-reconcile each month back to that period, fix, then re-reconcile?

  • Hey HayleyTGE,

Love that you’re giving the file a clean up, especially tracking down that old August 25 bill and credit. You can go ahead and edit or apply the credit to tidy that purchase up. Just keep in mind that if the transaction you change has already been reconciled it will drop out of that reconciliation and pop back on the Reconcile Accounts screen, so you may need to undo and redo the reconciliation for the period that includes the transaction. You don’t need to un‑reconcile every single month back to August, only the specific period(s) where you edit a reconciled transaction.

    Cheers,

  • Thanks so much Doreen! I have not been able to target a specific period in the past, just un-reconciled back to where the issue was and then re-done. Will give this a crack tomorrow. Appreciate the help and this community :)
