Open Banking is now available for all MYOB users

Hi Amanda,

Yes, we have just noticed that MYOB still retains the old paper application method. However, I am still disappointed that this process takes one to two weeks to complete.

I also wonder why MYOB no longer offers the alternative method where a verification code from the bank transaction can be entered into MYOB. Indeed, the Open Banking method is only valid for one year, which means our clients need to renew their consent every year.

Neither method seems particularly efficient or convenient, especially for accounting practices managing bank feeds for multiple clients.

You have the option to try another method when setting up your bank feeds, this is available on the first page when you select which bank you're with. This page has a screenshot for your reference. 

If you select the option to try another method, you will be reverted back to our original bank feeds application process.

This is so ugly function. Most of my clients are struggling with myob bank feed connection now, as the company bank accounts are not showing on MYOB list. Can we go back to the time that MYOB didn't use this function? Even the bankers from ANZ and St.George bank don't have clue to fix this issue. We'd better assisting the client to move another software than MYOB. 

I waiting 1hour and 28 minutes on the phone... still no team member. Very disappointing MYOB!

I am struggling to get a new bank feed activated through the Open Banking. With Westpac banking, you have a personal profile and a business profile but one customer number. When i put my credentials in, it takes me to the personal profile in Westpac and i can access the business account to allocate bank feeds. I then selected the alternative way and selected Westpac Credits cards. I got the code from MYOB, signed in and linked bank feeds last week. I have done this twice and bank feeds are still not active - what am i doing wrong. I need to get this linked urgently as the transactions are starting to flood in and i don't want to be entering everything manually. Cant get through to anyone on the phone, currently been on hold for 48 minutes. Please advise. Thanks, Lara

Thanks for checking. You’re not missing anything. When you click Connect bank accounts, it does take you through a series of prompts to set up the Open Banking connection. If you’re switching from a classic bank feed, there can also be a few manual steps involved, like cancelling the old feed, setting up the new Open Banking connection, and reconciling categories. If something in the prompts doesn’t look right or you get stuck at a certain step, reach out to our live chat support through our virtual assistant, MOCA, or submit a case via My Account.

Thanks, the bank feed "application" is just a series of prompts. Am i missing something when i press connect bank accounts?

That catches people out sometimes. 

The 8-digit code shows up when you start the bank feed application in MYOB. As you work through the prompts, the authorisation number will appear on screen. It’s also worth checking the confirmation email, as the code is usually included there too.
