Bank rec “calculated closing balance” won’t match balance sheet bank.

Ongoing problem of Calculated closing balance being wrong when compared to balance sheet bank balance.

I have gone all the way back and rolled back all bank reconciliations back to start of business. Bank balance in Balance sheet is zero

Zero transactions at selected reconciliation date 

opening balance is zero.

Calculated closing bank balance? Negative $891.

Even if I select recon date as 1/1/1900 still shows calculated closing balance as -$891

How does this happen and how does one fix it?

    I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you are having reconciling your accounts. Generally, this happens when a reconciliation is done before the most recent reconciliation date. I recommend following the steps outlined in this post to fix the issue.
