Hi LittleB,
There hasn’t been an update yet on a permanent fix, but this is already on the dev team’s radar. While we’re waiting on that fix, there's a workaround available. You can select any other country for now to get through the setup, and then switch it back to Taiwan once the issue has been resolved. It’s also a good idea to create a case via My Account so the support team can add your account to the list of affected users and make sure you’re notified once the fix is in place.
Cheers,
Doreen

Hi Princess,
This issue is affecting one of my employees too. Any news on a fix?
Cheers

Hi setha,
That's definitely not ideal, especially since you’ve already selected the right option from the drop-down. This is a known issue and it comes down to the wording used for Taiwan in our system compared with the ATO’s "Taiwan" versus "Taiwan: Province of China".
As a workaround for now, you can choose another country to continue with the setup. Once the issue has been resolved, you’ll be able to go back in and update it to the correct country. I’ve also added your account to the list of impacted customers, so you’ll be included in any updates shared by the product team.
Cheers,
Princess

It has the same issue even if the country is chosen from the drop-down for Taiwan of province of China.

Hi there FGG,
I understand how frustrating this situation can be. To resolve the "Origin Country Needed" error, please ensure that the country of origin is selected from the drop-down menu and not entered manually. This should help avoid the error message you're receiving. You can also follow the steps below to correct the error:
- Go to the card file.
- Select Cards List.
- Choose the Employee tab, then open an employee's card.
- Payroll Details tab.
- Taxes tab.
- Income Type.
- Select the country of origin. Make sure to select it from the drop-down and apply it to all employees with working holiday makers as their income type.
Best regards,
Doreen
