Pay run automatically recorded as an updated event

Hello,

I tried to file new pay runs recently (for new financial year FY25), but MYOB did not ask me an option of whether I wanted to record it as an updated pay run or a new pay run as usual. Instead, after punching in numbers for the pay runs, MYOB goes straight to declaration of the ATO and then eventually, my pay runs were sent as updated events and STP showing 0 for all of them.

Please help.

  • Hi linngo,

I understand your worry about the pay runs showing up as updates instead of new entries. This usually happens when the pay period and the payment date are in June, but the time recorded falls in July. But no worries! Even if it shows as an updated event, the amounts you've entered will still be reported to the ATO. You can double-check this by looking at your payroll reports, like the register and EOFY verification report.

Feel free to get in touch if you need more help.

    Cheers,

    Princess

  • Hi,

As you can see in the attachment in my previous post, both the payment period and payment dates are in July. There is no June dates related whatsoever. I have checked with my other colleagues as well and their MYOB are also doing the same thing. MYOB would not ask them an option to choose between an updated pay run or a new pay run. Could you please look into this problem for me?

    Thanks,

      Hi linngo,

Thanks for sharing more details. I apologise for the confusion earlier. It's indeed strange that STP is treating your July payments as updated pay runs and not giving you an option for new ones. To get to the bottom of this, I recommend checking your payroll reports to confirm if the amounts were recorded correctly, even though STP reports show $0. If your payroll reports are missing the last payment, have a chat with MOCA, our virtual assistant. If MOCA can't sort it out, you'll be automatically connected to our live chat team, who can dive deeper into this. They're all set to handle tricky issues and can help you further.

      Cheers,
