Pay Run Issues

I am having issues processing a current fortnightly pay run.

If I change the number of base hours worked, MYOB is not recalculating the $ amount, retaining the value of 76 hours.

On reading similar issues in the community forum, I went into each employee and changed their standard pay to zero hours.

Then recreated a new pay run.  On entering the base hours worked for each employee, the $ value would not change from zero.  If I type in the correct value, it holds for a second and then reverts to zero.  Also, the pro rata leave (annual and personal) were not calculating and showing zero hours accrued for the period.

I then went back into each employee and re-entered their standard pay to 76 hours.

I cleared all cookies and temporary files.  Then recreated the pay run.

This time, when I changed the base hours worked, MYOB adjusted the $ value on some employees only.  Some I had to overwrite the amount.  On entering hours in annual leave loading, the $ value remained a zero, I had to overwrite this figure.  On entering annual leave hours the correct $ value calculated automatically.  On entering personal leave used, the $ value remained at zero and I had to overwrite with the figure.

Given that I had to make so many adjustments, and triple check all the calculations were correct before, today's pay run has taken 6 times longer than usual.

It appears I missed this same issue occurring the in previous fortnight and have overpaid employees due to MYOB not recalculating the $ value when hours worked was reduced.

    Hey Bec-M,

You’ve put in a solid shift working through the pay run. Your approach was thorough, methodical, and you kept cool under pressure with careful cross‑checks. To help steady things, make sure the relevant wage pay item is set to “Automatically adjust base hourly or base salary details" so that the base hourly or base salary hours and amounts will be adjusted correctly. For pay items that keep snapping back to zero, here’s a similar Community Forum post that we’re tracking with an update on the way. Lastly, for the pro rata leave not calculating, give the setup a quick check as the usual culprit is the Calculation Basis being off. For salaried employees set the Calculation Basis to “Equals dollars per pay period” and for hourly employees set it to “Equals a percentage of wages”. Here's a link where you can find more info about it. If none of these work, it's best to reach out to our team on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA or by submitting a support case via My Account. They can dive deeper and see what's going on.

    Cheers,

    Doreen

    Thanks Doreen,

I have updated the leave pay items and set the check box for "Automatically adjust base hourly or base salary details".

For the leave accruing issue, I have checked the set up for both annual and personal leave for the hourly employees.  It all seems to line up with the recommendations as per the link you supplied.

I have just created a dummy fortnightly pay run and all problems still exist.

    Hi Bec-M,

Thanks for all the digging you’ve done so far. I can see you’ve checked the setup for all the affected pay items. Since you’ve covered everything on your side, please lodge a support ticket in My Account so we can take a closer look at your payroll setup and capture the right details to investigate further. Thanks again for your patience, we’ll keep at it until it’s sorted..

    Cheers,

    Princess
