STP Reporting
I have reported pays to the ATO but when I've checked the STP Report it showing $0.00 for the pay. My Activity report doesn't match the ATO's balance. How do I fix?
Hi SN2,
Thanks for checking that and for confirming your MYOB figures and EOFY totals already match. If the amounts are showing correctly in MYOB but not at the ATO, sending an update event can help in some cases because it resends the latest year-to-date payroll figures. That said, if the mismatch is still there after that, it usually means the issue needs a closer look from our support team.
A good next step would be:
If the figures still don’t line up at the ATO after that, reach out to our live chat support through our virtual assistant, MOCA, or submit a case via My Account so they can investigate it with you further.

Sai
I have checked the ATO's figure today and they haven't changed. How long is it for the ATO change an update event?
Hi SN2,
Thanks for following up. If the Update Event comes through as accepted, the ATO should update to the latest YTD figures shortly after. If you’re checking the employee’s income statement or YTD figures, that view works off the latest accepted STP submission, so the update should usually flow through after a short delay. If you’re checking the BAS W1/W2 prefill though, an Update Event correction might not change that prefill at all.
When your YTD Verification report doesn’t match the ATO STP report, it’s usually caused by things like missing or incorrect ATO reporting categories, edited or deleted past pay runs without sending an Update Event, or pay items that aren’t reportable the same way in STP, like some deductions or non-reportable items. That’s why it’s really important to double-check your MYOB payroll reports first.
If your Payroll Activity, Payroll Register, and EOFY YTD Verification all match, but the ATO still looks different, the issue is often with the ATO view itself or how the STP event has been applied on their side, rather than the figures in MYOB. In that case, please reach out to our team through any of the support options on our contact page so they can do a proper line-by-line review and take a closer look at your specific file.
Cheers,
Princess
