    Thanks for raising this. I can see why the button wording is confusing. There isn't really an option to process super without creating a pay run on your file.

     

    Super is connected to the pay run because that’s where MYOB records the liability. The pay run tells MYOB who the super belongs to, how much is owed, which fund it should go to, and when it was earned or paid.

     

    “Create super payment” is only the next step. It collects the super liabilities already recorded in payroll and sends them through Pay Super. It isn’t a separate payment screen where a super amount can be entered from scratch.

     

    That’s why even contractor or musician super needs to be recorded through payroll first, while their actual invoice payment can remain separate.
