Access

Received an email from MYOB today “upload receipts without access etc

instructions

  • Use the Contacts role for team members if you wish to control visibility of reports, invoices, and sensitive information.
  • Team members with Payroll and Sales roles can also now use the capture functionality within the Assist app.

TROUBLE IS: There is not a “Contacts” role in the “Company file roles” list

another hour of wasted time. Why can’t you check these things before making press releases?

    Hi Geoffy1,

35 years with MYOB is amazing, that’s huge! Thanks for the feedback, we’ll pass it on to the team. You’re right, we should call out the differences between AccountRight desktop and the online/browser version (or MYOB Business) up front. Sorry the steps weren’t clear and caused confusion. For now, use the link above to set up roles, you can switch between the Browser and Desktop tabs to see the full breakdown.

    Cheers,

    MYOB

    I need to correct you,

as part of the instructions it clearly says AccountRight. (Of course I’m using desktop, have been for 35 years) Your instructions, if only for either one of online, or desktop should specify this to avoid client disappointment & frustration.

It’s a good idea but typically  a half baked solution.

    Getting started is easy

    1. Set applicable team members to the Contacts role in the user settings of your MYOB Business or AccountRight account.
    2. Ask them to snap and upload receipts using the MYOB Assist app
    3. You stay in control of reporting and sensitive data

  • Hi Geoffy1,

That’s a tough experience, and your point’s valid. We did check this before release. The roles and permissions you see depend on the product you’re using. It looks like you’re on the AccountRight desktop version, which is why you’re not seeing the “Contacts” role. That one only shows up when you open your file in a browser. For the full breakdown of roles and what they can do, you may check this link.

    Cheers,

    Princess
