Hi All, Been on hold for over an hour as a priority support customer so thought I'd try my luck here... We currently have 25 offline files (including 2 online files) that we only use as basic ledger files with monthly invoicing to clients. There is no payroll for these 23 files so want to know what the options if we need to move them online re: 17 Jun deadline. We don't want to pay $165/month for 23 files, that seems excessive but we can't get ahold of the sales team to ask our options. We are also needing to purchase another offline file but again, can't justify the $165/month for a very basic/simple company file. Does anyone have a direct email to the sales team? Hi Melh1 If you need online and offline versions, you can use the option from the old post from Gavin12345 which shows how to turn off auto updates for PC versions - just substitute the version shown with your version - all versions up to 2026.4 will be able to be offline. Once you have created a shortcut for the offline version/s, you can leave your online shortcut to continue with your current online file. Unfortunately MYOB are not going to change their policy just because users want them to. Now just as there are ways to stop Windows 10 automatic updates, there are also ways to stop MYOB automatic updates, or at least work around them.I keep using AR2020.1 even though MYOB has updated itself to AR2021.4Take a look where MYOB installs itself - in a folder called AccountRight in a path like this:C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Programs\MYOB\AccountRightInside that folder is another folder called app-2021.300.244119 or similar - this contains the files that run MYOB - AR2021.3. Copy this folder app-2021.300.244119 and paste under C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Programs\MYOB\ and rename it to AccountRight 2021.3Delete your desktop shortcut and create a new shortcut to HuxleyApplication.exe inside the new folder.From this point your shortcut will run AR2021.3 even though MYOB Updates to AR2021.4 or .5 etcWhen you are ready to upgrade, repeat the above and create a folder for AccountRight 2021.4 etc and change the shortcut to the next version. There is another option from a post by Random_nuggets that is good if you only use one version and want to stop the upgrades. A simpler, more surgical method is as follows:a) Open the folder in which MYOB is installed. Typically this will be in:C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Programs\MYOB\AccountRightb) Inside that folder you will find a program file named Update.exe. Simply rename this program file to, say, "Update-disabled.exe". Voila! No more updates!. When AccountRight is next started, it will fail to find its auto-update program, and then carry on running the software as is. I have successfully tested this approach since the AR 2026.3 release (PC edition). CheersLiz

Thanks Liz - fingers crossed this works. I have a spare laptop - have set everything up on there as well, lots of backups... the two companies I work with the cost of subs just isn't worth it for the 10-odd transactions per month, and I paid for a perpetual 5-license agreement some 20-odd years ago. Never asked for upgrades, it was only because I also work on-line for many clients I kept having to upgrade the software for my desktop files. Thank you to ALL who have helped us with this.

I'm waiting on hold also with the same problem. How can they do this just on end of financial year! Our offline data files are just simple files for property/super etc so don't want to pay a monthly subscription. We already do that for our business files.

Apparently it can be reversed - those who have inadvertently upgraded their company file and their software to AR2026.5, even if its online - the entire process can be reversed. The user can go back to offline, AR2026.4 etc if they want to. Just need to talk to the right people. Try FGH Tables.

Also, you can still create a *.QIF file from your bank accounts and use Get Statement from the Bank Reconciliation screen to allocate and reconcile transactions, rather than live bank feeds.

With the latest AR 2026.5 you can only work and backup online. This version was automatically updated on 17th June so your file is already updated online and can't be reversed. If you don't need online services such as payroll and live bank feeds, and really want to go back to offline processing and backup, you will need to go through quite a few steps to uninstall the latest version, download either the Server Edition (instructions are elsewhere on this Forum) or download the PC AR 2026.4 - turn off the internet and modify the Update.exe file as per this thread:

and then install AR 2026.4 and restore your last backup and re-enter your latest transactions.
There have been a number of requests on here for offline backups being reinstated but this seems unlikely given MYOB's history.

You seem to know how to solve problems! We have a problem - we use AccountRight Premier and since the new update, we can't save our files locally anymore. The option disappeared. Do you know a way around it? We need to save back-ups to use in a plug-in. I hope you have a solution for us. There used to be an option - MYOB support sent me the second screenshot below two months ago when they had an update. The first screenshot is what it looks like now :(

If your version has been updated, I have found uninstalling it and downloading the previous version and then modifying the Update.exe works.

Yeah exactly, if we paid monthly subscription across all our offline files it would equate to over $40K per year which is crazy and unjustifiable. The sales team couldn't offer any solutions other than suggesting to look at competitors to see if they have a feasible solution. After a bit of push back, I did manage to get an ok deal but I'm still keeping my options open, we definitely don't need all of our files to be online as they have minimal transactions and no payroll/bank feeds.
