Payroll from MYOB to Xero
We are switiching to Xero for bookkeeping so it makes sense to use their payroll too. We have two employees (our adult children) they don't accumulate holidays etc so nothing that I am aware of that needs transferring to Xero. How do I finalise STP in Myob to start again in Xero please? HAve tried google etc but just confusing myself. Thanks :D
Hi TraceySmith256,
Totally get where you’re at, you just need to wrap things up in MYOB so you can cleanly switch to Xero.
Here’s the simple way to do it:
- Pick your last pay in MYOB (your cut‑over pay), process it as normal, and send the STP report.
- In your software, go to Payroll → Single Touch Payroll reporting → EOFY finalisation, choose the right payroll year, tick your two employees, mark them as final, and send that to the ATO.
- Wait until that STP finalisation shows as Accepted.
- After that, stop using MYOB for payroll. From the next pay date, do all pays (and STP) in Xero only.
It’s completely fine if myGov/ATO shows one final income statement from MYOB and another from Xero for the same year, as long as the totals are correct, the ATO is happy.
