There have been requests dating back before 2020 to get this issue resolved. If MYOB believes that the lack of responses is a reflection of the need for this to change I think you don't realise that most people have simply given up. It looks ridiculous when issuing a receipt with the correct date format on the date of the receipt but the incorrect format for the invoice itself - as well as extremely confusing. Surely this isn't a massive issue to change??
This is basic functionality that should be provided and fixed as soon as it was identified. Not ignored for at least 3 years.
Hi Jill1,
Thank you for your post and my apologies for the late response.
We've noted the issue with the date format on printed receipts displaying in the US format. Regrettably, we don't have an exact timeline for its resolution. For more information, you may find this help article helpful: "Changing the Date Format."
Feel free to post again, we're happy to help!

Earl_HD seriously, are you kidding with the "change the date format" link? Nowhere else on any of our PCs is the date in US format, nowhere even in MYOB is it in US format, EXCEPT the receipts which print incorrectly and have done for years. So it's great that you've noted the issue, but when are they actually going to do something about it??
I guess at the same time they are going to give us emailing receipt functionality.....

Hi SDuddy,
I empathize with your frustration regarding this issue. Regrettably, I am unable to provide a specific timeframe for its resolution at this point. As a temporary workaround, you can take your file offline to print receipts. This involves creating a backup and restoring it to your desktop. When you're ready to return your file online, you can perform an online restoration. Restore your company file
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Feel free to post again if you have further queries and one of us will be happy to help you.

Thanks for the suggestion Earl but let's just unpack the suggested workaround: I can kick all the other employees out of the MYOB file while I take a backup, then process receipts which have to be printed to PDF and manually emailed out to customers, and then restore the file. If you have a large number of customers you're looking at holding up everyone else for an hour, probably two hours.... It's not really practical is it?
Or I can start early, or work late, so as not to bring the entire organisation to a standstill. Great!
Can we forget the "can't give a specific timeframe for resolution" and just have MYOB admit that they are never going to do anything to fix a fundamental error in the date format, or a lack of basic functionality to email receipts?
We are already paying for a third party solution to the receipt emailing and having to repeatedly explain to customers why their receipt dates are wrong...
