I totally get where you're coming from, especially as someone who's been using MYOB for a long time and knows how things should work. This feels like you’re not in control of your invoice settings. When invoices are imported through a third-party app, the online payments option gets automatically turned on. While we can adjust settings for invoices created directly in MYOB, for imported ones, you’ll need to check with the third-party app.
About the surcharge issue, it’s definitely odd that the charges are being applied to you instead of your customers. That’s not how it should be working, so we’ll need to look into this further.
