ATO Payroll Reporting Error

Hi community (& hopefully experts), I'm working with a company with multiple entities. I'm an administrator across all entities. For all entities excluding one, I can complete the ATO Payroll Reporting. However, for one entity, the attached error keeps coming up. We've reviewed access across entities and it appears the same. Can anyone assist with this?

    Hi kyleer1

Thanks for the screenshot and for explaining what is happening with that file.

That “Something went wrong” message is pretty generic, so if it is only popping up for one entity, it is usually something about that file or your access to it.

For that one entity, please try:

    1. In that company file, go to Setup > User Access, open your user, and check the Online access roles. Make sure only the right role is ticked for your email, for example, Administrator or Payroll, not a mix, then sign out and sign back in.
    2. Sign out of MYOB, open a private or incognito window in Chrome or Edge, sign back in, and try ATO Payroll Reporting again.

If it still says “Something went wrong” after that, the best next step is to lodge a case in My Account or jump on live chat via MOCA so the support team can take a closer look at that file.

  • Hi Genreve, thank you for your reply. When I go into Setup >User Access, I am not listed under the users (but have full access). I tried to add me as a User and it said "MYOB account has already been linked to a user in this company file". It will then not add me. I'm not sure why this is occurring. Thanks.

    Hi kyleer1,

Appreciate you giving those steps a go. That "MYOB account has already been linked to a user in this company file" message is basically saying your my.MYOB email is already tied to an existing user ID (often Administrator or an old username), which is why you still have full access. You can double-check this by clicking through each user in the list and you’ll spot one whose email matches your my.MYOB email. For that user, just tick the box "This user will sign on with a my.MYOB account/Create an online MYOB login for this user."

If that still doesn’t do the trick, that’s our team's cue to jump in and take a look behind the scenes. There might be a setting on our end that needs a little tweak.

    Cheers,

    Princess
