CASHOUT RDO hours

Hi -  Our workers work a 40hr week. Get paid for a 38 hrs week and accrue 2 hrs each week for a paid RDO. I have an employee who would like to cash out some accrued RDO hours for cash instead of taking the leave. How do I complete this process? Do i need to set up a new payroll category or can I just use our current 'RDO Paid' category.  Do they need to accrue additional annual and sick/personal leave for these CASHED out hours?

Appreciate any advice.

Thanks.

    Hey slmann,

Love the clear rundown of your RDO setup. Yes, you can use your current RDO Paid wages category to cash out banked RDO hours. Make sure it’s linked to the RDO entitlement so the hours drop off correctly. On whether those cashed‑out RDO hours should also accrue extra annual or personal/sick leave, that’s set by your award or workplace policy, so best to check with your accountant.

    Cheers,

    Doreen
