Changing Sal Sac Super amount in Pay Categories
Hi,
I have an Employee who wants to increase his salary sacrifice super amount from $50 a week to $100 a week. Can I just edit the single touch payroll category to $100 from the existing $50 or do I need to create a new category?
My concern is that this will effect pay reports and/or end of financial year finalization.
I am hesitant to add another payroll category as I already have so many and once they are used they cannot be deleted.
Thanks!
Jenni
Hi jenni
No worries at all! If the employee is the only one using the payroll category, you can change it from 50 to 100. You can simply edit the existing salary sacrifice super amount in the payroll category from $50 to $100. This won't affect your pay reports or EOFY finalization. It's just a change in the amount, not the category itself. So, no need to create a new category. However, if this payroll category applies to all employees you have, then you'll need to create a new category for this employee separately. See this helpful article about creating payroll categories for a more detailed guide. Let me know if you have other queries!
Kind regards,
Shella
