error message on EOFY finalisation

If the entered amount under RFBA is below the threshold set by the ATO, when you click the Finalise and notify the ATO, you will receive the error message "Something went wrong. Please try again or refresh the browser". For further information, please check The Help Article Reportable fringe benefits amounts (RFBA) with Single Touch Payroll reporting.

Hi Doreen_P ,

I have one employee with FBT amount of $2,305.67 (ATO Minimum threshold is $3,773.) What should I do because I have the attached message (under ATO threshold amount). I look forward to hearing from you.

Since the $3,733 thresholds for the RFBA is set by the ATO, we really recommend to speak with your account or ATO as they can provide you with further information. Please also refer to The Help Article Reportable fringe benefits amounts (RFBA) with Single Touch Payroll reporting.

I have the same problem as Doreen.

The amount I'm entering is way above the threshold.

I still have the same result

Thank you for your reply. I leave the employee with FBT which is under the threshold aside and could finalise the rest of staff. I will speak to ATO today.

Hi Doreen,

I have 2 employees have RFBA, one with RFBA amount $6000 is ok to finalise and notify ATO, while another one with RFBA amout of $2300 is not letting me finalise, keep getting error message. 

is anyone exprence the similar problem? please help.

This error can occur if the RFBA amount reported is less than the ATO's threshold. Check that the total value of an employee's RFBA exceeds the ATO's standards. If you are unsure what to report, consult with your accountant or the ATO.

I have spoken to the ATO and they fixed it from their end. They gave me a reference number. We can either send Summary of payments through the busniess portal or send by post to:

You can write to us at:

Australian Taxation Office
GPO Box 9990
[insert the name and postcode of your capital city]

For example:

Australian Taxation Office
GPO Box 9990
SYDNEY  NSW  2001

Make sure you are a primary or an authorised contact and that you include:

• the tax file number (TFN) or Australian business number (ABN)
• your full name, date of birth, address and phone number
• your signature.
