Holiday leave accrual

Hi there,

 

I normally pay my part-time employees on a fortnightly basis.  Recently an employee brought to my attention that her Holiday Leave Accrual year to date had changed over 1 pay period from positive+3.11 to negative-19.51 hours.  The strange thing is that in that period, she hasn't claimed any holiday leave.  Every pay period, she accumulates holiday leave by 2.46 hours.  Here are the holiday leave accrual figures:

6/1/25 - 19/1/25 Holiday leave accrual YTD +0.65

20/1/25 - 1/2/25 Holiday leave accrual YTD + 3.11

3/2/25-15/2/25 Holiday leave accrual YTD -19.51

17/2/25-1/3/25 Holiday leave accrual YTD -17.05

3/3/25-15/3/25 Holiday leave accrual YTD  -14.58

 

In addition, I try not to allow my staff to claim leave in advanced, hence not allowing them to get into negative territory for their leave entitlements.  Can someone give me some insights into this issue?  Thanks!

    Hi dcdp,

    Since leave hours accrued are based on the pay runs processed, the drop in accrual could be due to a manual adjustment. With that, you can adjust leave balances by following the steps in this help page: Adjusting leave entitlements to go back on track. 
     

    I’d also recommend checking past pay runs and reports to see if any changes were applied.

      Thanks for the tip Earl!

      I'll go onto MYOB to see if can make the manual adjustments as suggested by the link that you provided.  I'm almost 100% sure I didn't make any manual adjustments to the holiday leave accrual in the previous pay runs - as I don't know how to do it to begin with.

    Hi again Earl_HD 

    After reading the help page: Adjusting leave entitlements that you sent me I can''t seem to get far.  When I login into my MYOB AccountRight (desktop version)- I can't seem to find the "Create" menu.  I'm looking at my Command Centre window with the following icons - Accounts, Banking, Sales, Time Billing, Purchases, Payroll, Inventory and Card File.  I tried to go to Payroll and Process Payroll - but there is no option for the pay cycle to choose "Unscheduled" as mentioned in the link that you sent.  Please advice further on how I can change leave entitlements under the MYOB AccountRight Command Centre?
