The web version of the software lacks some features compared to the desktop versions. For instance, the identifiers feature is exclusive to the desktop version, so you can't use it in the web version. Additionally, you can't modify the templates for pay advice in the web version.
Regarding Clearwater, you can only have a working file on the web version if you have an active subscription. Using it as an online file without a subscription isn’t possible. However, you can create a trial version of the subscription for the web version, but it will be limited to 14 days before incurring charges.
