September 2025 update changed tax withheld

I updated MYOB this morning, 22/9/2025, and whether it is related or not, one of my employees has suddenly had their tax reduced. It seems that maybe, MYOB is not taking into account their STSL? I crosschecked the correct amount with the ATO calculator, and it seems the previous amount was, and is, correct. It is only for one employee, so I am at a loss what has happened. Gross annual salary and hours have not been changed on the employee card. Any ideas? I don't want to manually check and change the tax every pay.

  • Hey Jeano,

Nice work cross‑checking with the ATO calculator, that’s a solid baseline to go by. When tax suddenly drops for just one person, the first thing to double‑check is the employee’s assigned tax table. A wrong tax table can reduce or increase the calculated tax even if their salary and hours haven’t changed. See our PAYG tax tables page and look for “Assigning a tax table to an employee” for more info. If it’s still out after those checks, make sure to reach out to our team on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA, or by submitting a support case via MyAccount.

    Cheers,

    Doreen

    Thanks, Doreen,

The assigned tax table had also not been changed, but I reassigned the same tax table. There was also another update this morning, and between the 2 updates, the problem seems to be fixed.
