Hi jmaney
I will repeat what I wrote:
Account 6-0000 is level 1, all expenses accounts (such as 6-0410) should be below this level.
In your image 6-0410 is at the same level as 6-0000, and so the only option is to treat this as a Header.
I suggest you start from scratch - change all headers back to detail. Move everything back to level 1, then starting from the top, set 6-0000 as Header. Then set 6-0100 as a Level 2 account as a header, 6-0110 and 6-0120 as level 3 detail accounts.
Then set 6-0300 as a level 2 detail account.
Then set 6-0410 as a level 2 account this will then give you the option to set as a header or a detail - it cannot be a level 1 detail account as 6-0000 is a level 1 header account.
etc etc

Gavin
Hi Gavin
I sincerely appreciate your suggestion, and i wish it was that simple.
However, we can't move down the expense accounts that are currently sitting at Level 1, ...eg the 6-0410 Cleaning account.
The Up/Down options are simply 'greyed' out.

Hi jmaney
If:
'I suggest you start from scratch - change all headers back to detail. Move everything back to level 1'
doesn't work, you may have corrupted the file, which means either sending it to MYOB to get fixed (they might have a script for this - tagging Princess_R and Celia_B ) or sending it to a 3rd party to get fixed, or starting a new file.

Hi there
We are having problems with one of our MYOB files.
In tidying up, and removing some header accounts...the 'Detail Account' has moved to a Level 1 account, and will not allow us to move it down. (the move Up/Down selection buttons are greyed out.
Also, within these accounts it is not showing that it's a Detail Account....only the Header Account option is showing...but obviously not selected, as these are Detail accounts.
I have screen shots in the conversation below.
Are you able to advise how to fix. Thks Janine

Hi jmaney
Thank you for your post. Base on the screenshot and the information you've provided the account (6-0000) the header account and it place a default account 6-0100. The 6-0300 will not fall under 6-0100, if you want to group these account starting 6-0300, you'll need to change its account number. Change the account numbers after the account 6-0120 (Admin and Finance Group) to 6-0130, 6-0140,.....to 6-0190. It should look like the sample screenshot below:

Please let me know how you go with this.
