STP 2 All purpose allowances

Have been trying to get help for the last month regarding STP2 and all purpose allowances and how to set them up. If have rang MYOB and was on hold for 1.5 hours and then have been cut off twice. Spo...

    Unfortunately, the "you cant do that in MYOB" answer is correct. 

    Overtime and penalties will only calculate on a base hourly rate multiplier. You cant tell it to calculate on base hourly + an allowance. 

     

    I did find a thread where this had been asked before, and presented the same reasoning, and a solution that isnt of any use for STP2. (i.e. the allowance wouldnt be able to be reported seperately)

Hi Leanne, 

 

thanks for this post, I thought it was a great workaround.

I have set it all up as per your description, however, I have come across two issues, that make me wonder, where I am going wrong.

1. setting up negative amounts for the allowance adjustment: If I set up the allowance adjustment as -38 x $3.5 MYOB adds it on top of the pays instead of canceling the amount for the allowances. 

2. if I set the allowance adjustment up as a negative figure, either -38x -$3.5 or 38x -$3.5 it calculates the total of wages correctly, however, I then find the amounts of the YTD reports in the STP incorrect. 

It then should report $1197 to gross and $133 to allowance, but it reports $1330 to gross wages and then also $133 to allowances. 

Are you able to help me out?
