Can anyone advise whether you can assign line item expenditure budgets within a category?
for example, if you had a category titled "Category A", could you assign budgets to all the types of costs in this category, e.g. consumables, travel

I'm not too sure what you are trying to assign exactly, in AccountRight Categories are assigned to an entire transaction not individual transaction lines, and there isn't the option to create budgets for categories. Jobs on the other hand are assigned to individual lines within a transaction and can have budgets created. There are job and category specific reports available.
