2013 was another huge year for MYOB.
Highlights of the past 12 months included significant improvements to our flagship online accounting software AccountRight Live. Based on your feedback we’ve added great new functionality and delivered on our goal of being the fastest online accounting solution available. We were also really pleased by the continued growth in popularity of our easy-to-use LiveAccounts platform in 2013.
Early in the year we released the new AccountEdge range and the new AccountEdge Mobile application.
We also launched the new MYOB Community Blog to help keep you informed about what’s happening here on the Community Forum, as well as The AccountRight Blog where we share information about new features and how you can get the most from your software. Later in the year we also added The LiveAccounts Blog.
Early in 2013 we rolled out our new application programming interface (API) which received tremendous interest from developers and is already facilitating exciting new third-party applications that integrate with our AccountRight software.
In May we were thrilled to sign an agreement to purchase BankLink. The acquisition was a key strategic move leveraging the strengths of both organisations and has positioned us to lead the new wave of industry growth – cloud accounting. We also launched MYOB CompanyDocs and our Melbourne staff moved into some funky new digs.
Mid-year is always our busiest period because of the Australian end of financial year. We were really pleased this year to offer new resources to assist such as our comprehensive End of Financial Year website, training videos for common processes and hot topics, plus free online seminars.
We made many other changes this year to better service our clients during the busy end-of-financial-year period, including additional staff. The changes enabled us to answer tens of thousands more calls, LiveChats, emails and Forum Posts and minimise wait times. We want to make further improvements in 2014.
Later in the year we launched a free online service to help small businesses to assess the health of their companies. The MYOB Business Reality Check provides a comprehensive assessment tool that identifies business issues then offers a range of resources to help solve them.
For those interested in converting from competing software, in October we launched Conversion Services to MYOB, available through select Partners.
Here on the forum we launched the Getting to Know series. I hope you’re enjoying learning more about some of the most active contributors here on the forum that generously share their expertise. They certainly have fascinating lives and amazing knowledge to share!
In addition to growing lots of moustaches to support men’s health initiatives, November was all about supporting small businesses with the extremely successful Shop Small campaign. We also celebrated the first birthday of AccountRight Live, were formally recognised as one of Australia’s 50 most innovative companies and won the Ford Hack-A-Thon.
2013 was a very big year here on the MYOB Community Forum. We thank you for joining the community and actively participating in its ongoing success. The forum continues to grow and thrive as a place where you can ask questions, share information and learn from each other.
During the year over 560,000 unique visitors accessed over 2.5 million pages on the Community Forum. Over 27,000 posts were made and we welcomed over 12,500 new registrations to take our total number well over 50,000.
We really value and appreciate the contribution that everyone makes to the ongoing success of this community, particularly those that so generously share their time, knowledge, expertise and wisdom to assist others.
One of the ways in which you can thank others who post useful information on the forum is by awarding Kudos. During the year over 16,000 Kudos points were awarded, and nearly 2000 posts were marked as Accepted Solutions.
A special huge thank you to our top contributors for 2013 - @jenniek, @Mike_James, @Julie_A_C, @ronatbas, @TonyLane, @Geoff_, @Murray_McKenzie, @The_Doc, @Nic-acc-addons, @Marilyn, @David_Cree, @gavin12345, @DuncanS and @TomOnTuesday. These top contributors made an astonishing 3700 posts throughout the year, including over 560 marked as Accepted Solutions. They were also deservedly awarded over 4000 Kudos points.
