STP filing errors AR

Hi Community,

An employee has reported that they had their tax return amended.  When speaking to the ATO they reported that STP was reported at a higher amount early in the year when the employee lodged their 23-24 (lodged Dec 24) and that the figure was now reported was lower than the original PAYE figure.
They have firmly placed the responsibility back on the employer/payroll. My question is how can this discrepancy happens when all PR was filed with ATO via AR STP and none were pending or rejected?
We have checked the amount of PAYE the employee paid is correct.

    Hi New2AR,

It's a good idea to check your payroll reports like Payroll Activity, Payroll Register, and YTD Verification to make sure everything matches up. If the figures in MYOB look right but don't match what the ATO has, try sending an Update Event in STP to refresh the data. After that, check the STP reports in the ATO portal to see if the numbers update correctly.
