Applying credit from bank feed

I have bulk payments to my bank account that are made up from individual customers. I have a credit I need to apply to the bulk payment settlement. How do I apply this credit (which is sitting in the credit/refund) to the payment from my bank transactions?

    Hi

when you do a recieve payment from the customer there should be a message that appears saying that the customer has a credit. You can choose to apply credit or open the register to manually apply against an invoice

If you apply payments differently you can also go to Settle returns and credits in the Sales command centre and process that way - to the account you process the payments to

    Hope this is useful

    Hi Lisa,

Thanks for yor response. The credit is alerted when I use the bank feeds or Receive Payments on the Desktop version of AccountRight but not the online version.

I have been using the online version because I also deduct a commission off the bulk payment using the Adjust Payments feature (which I can't do on the desktop version).

Can you settle refunds in the online version?

    I think you can
If so receive the payment to undeposited funds for the total amount then record a refund to undeposited funds
Then prepare your electronic payment from undeposited funds

In your bank feeds will it show the credit if you change the show to all transactions ? If so you could do it that way
    hope this helps

    Hi Lisa,

The "Show all transactions" in the bank feeds on the online version only shows sales as far as I can see, and not refunds. It would make this process so much easier if there was a feature that would allow refunds to show up under All transactions (or to add them if required somehow).

So am I correct in thinking that the only way to deal with refunds and commission together is to accept payment from each customer individually into Undeposited funds, along with the refund, then create a refund transaction to deal with the commission? I will need to do this again in the future, so if there is a more streamlined way to do this, that would be great.

    Hi Rachel,

Firstly I think that the web browser version of AccountRight is ver limiting

Personally , as annoying as it is with the constant updates I access MYOB from the software downloads

This you can do from any computer wit internet access and you get what you pay for.

    Anyway

I would deal with the transaction outside of bank feeds

Apply the credit through customer returns to the appropraite invoice and then you should be able to match through bank feeds,

I don't think you can enter a negative amount in an invoice in the web browser so I hope this works for you
