Error when exporting to excel

Good day, I recently got a new work laptop, when I am trying to export a report to excel I get the below Error: 'APRECONS.XLT' cannot be accessed. The file may be corrupted, located on a server that is not responding, or read-only. Does anyone know how to fix it?

  • Hello Amandavn

This error message occurs because one of the Excel template files has not been installed with MYOB.

I would recommend giving AccountRight a reinstall and then trying to export to see if this resolves the issue.

Please let me know how you go.

Are you able to please do the following

    1. Go to Excel Options Dialog-box -> Trust center -> Trust center settings -> Add new location (select the folder where you have saved .xlt files

    2. In trust center settings go to File Block Settings check mark the Open & Save on your versions of your excel template.

After that please try to export the report again, please let me know how you go.

    Hi Chris,

I called our IT support and went through your suggested action and compared my settings to my colleague who has no issues with exporting reports to excel - I am stil unable to export and our settings match minus the additions I made to location

In the MYOB program file, the logged error message shows:

2022-07-21 09:23:55.3991,MYOB.Huxley.UI.Controllers.Update.ExceptionLogger,Warn,26,Unable to get update information from web service. : System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.
    at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()
    at AccountRight.UpdateServices.ProductUpdateService.GetState(UpdateRequest updateRequest)

Would this mean the MYOB server/app is blocking the export?

    Kind regards

    Hello Amandavn

Sorry for the delay in my response.

Have you managed to resolve the issue?

This occurs when files are missing from the directory or when there is a permissions issue blocking access. In other words, if the .XLT files are not in the folder location that is specified in that message, the software cannot find them, or if you do not have the permissions to work with that data, you would get this message. When you tried to reinstall the AccountRight software, did you make sure any antivirus software was disabled, and run the installer as Admin (right click Run as Administrator).

Please let me know how you get on.

    HI Chris,

It is actually a link missing from my office 365, I had to clear all catche, do a deep repair on my office 365 and reinsall Myob for it to relink.

All solved now, everytime Myob updates their files however I have to redo the process as the file lonk gets lost again.

    Regards Amanda
