Unable to open file in 2018.2.1

I have an offline non subscription version of Accountright 2018.2.1 and am unable to open my 2 company files. I get the "Unable to open file" and have followed the instructions to reload the backup file with the same results. The website suggests that I need to upgrade to version 2023.5.0 so I downloaded that and am unable to upgrade one of the company files as when you search the file it wont allow you to find it as it is not looking for files with an ext "myox" of which both of mine have. I have reconciled my accounts in the 2018.2.1 version but when you go to click reconcile it gives you the error message and you lose all of your recent entries. How can I fix this?

1) do I have to upgrade to 2023 version for offline?

2) Can I remain offline without a subscription?

3) Am I better off deleting the 2023 version?

4) Why am I getting these issues when I am not even online?

    Thanks for reaching out. 

     

    I understand we need to open the company file to work. Generally, there is no need for a subscription or to be in the latest version to use a perpetual license. For us to investigate this, may I request that you send us a diagnostic log of your AccountRight via private message?
