I have a category that is marked as inactive that has a balance in it that needs to be cleared but I cannot mark it as active again so I can journal against it to clear the balance
When I click mark as active nothing happens.

If the category has a balance but is inactive, you should be able to reactivate it. Since clicking 'Mark as active' isn't working, can you check if an error message pops up when you try?
Also, it might be a browser issue or a system glitch. Try clearing your cache or using a different browser to see if that helps.
